Friendship

“No man is an island.” This famous adage often goes with topics like friendship. Every time I ponder about people as social individuals (well, I think we all are), this saying can’t stop popping out of my mind. This reminds me very well of an essay that I’ve written about a couple years ago (it was a writing activity given to us).
I always believe that friendship is one of the most important things that people should deal with. It is as a measurement of how well-defined we are as social individuals. It is a measurement of how we’ve grown up to be someone with peers or the so-called friends.
Friends, just like our family, are important part of our lives. They are like specially-picked ingredients in a secret garden to continually spice up our lives (not that I consider them as something that could be eaten though). Without them, there’s something in us that feels incomplete. With their absence, there’s a part of us that’s left unsolved like a jigsaw puzzle.
Friends are people whom we can turn to in times of trouble. They are the ones who are willing to offer a shoulder for us to cry on. I, myself, have tried this for a number of times (it’s not that I cry most of the time). I have proven that friends are the ones who stay behind us when we’re falling, and they are always willing to extend a helping hand when we’re down. They are the ones who understand when everybody else seems to have misunderstood us. My friends (whom I also consider as my siblings) are precious to me. I always tell them my secrets (especially ones that I can’t tell my parents). This is because they also tell me their secrets, which their parents don’t know of as well. I think, they really consider me as one of their closest friends because they share their secrets. For me, this is one thing that friends should do if they really are close with each other. I feel lucky for all of my friends share secrets with me (even my guy friends do!). Well, I think I’ve proven myself as a good friend for I make friends easily (this doesn’t mean that I don’t choose people I befriend). It’s because most people say that I’m a happy person, and it seems like when I’m around, people seem to be energized with the happy personality I show them. It seems like that I’ve got the whole place glowing with my vibrant personality.(this line makes me imagine of myself in the middle of a room with the angel-wings widespreadJ).
I guess I’ve written a lot. My friends just inspire me to write about them. Till next time folks! Keep smiling to gain more friends!
